The anthropomorphism of animals
From the gods and goddesses of ancient Egypt who had human bodies and animal heads, all the way up to current day children's books where animals walk and talk amongst people in all manner of situations and no one bats an eyelid. We have always anthropomorphised animals. None more so than when we imbue our pets with human characteristics and personalities. Each pet has their distinct voice to their owner and the idea behind these portraits is to portray that humanisation and represent them as the deities that their owners assure us they are.
